The company began as a small automotive core operation and grew organically through hands-on work, deep market understanding, and a commitment to doing things the right way in an industry where transparency was often lacking. As volume increased and relationships strengthened, Converters Plus evolved into a high-volume catalytic converter and automotive core brokerage designed to serve licensed businesses with consistency, transparency, and operational discipline.

Founder Story

Ryan Cox founded Converters Plus in his early twenties — independently, without institutional backing, and with a hands-on understanding of the automotive recycling and catalytic converter industry.


From the outset, Ryan was directly involved in every aspect of the business: sourcing material, understanding converter composition, building industry relationships, and navigating the realities of pricing, assay, and settlement. Those early years shaped the company’s core philosophy — that clarity, accountability, and structure matter, especially at scale.


As the business grew, Ryan recognized the need for a more disciplined model — one that removed unnecessary intermediaries and treated catalytic converters as the high-value, data-driven commodities they are. That insight led to direct refinery relationships, independent assay validation, and a transparent brokerage structure that now defines Converters Plus.


Today, Ryan remains actively involved in guiding strategy, maintaining refinery partnerships, and ensuring the business continues to operate with the same standards it was built on.
